Our policy on Charging and Remissions is as follows:
The Education reform Act 1988 laid down that charges should not be made for any activities organsied by the school, including those outside the school day, although the parents might be invited to make voluntary contribustions. The policy of the school Governing Body is:
1. that parents are asked to note the provisions of the Act;
2. to emphasise that parental funding is absolutely vital to many activities, trips etc. and that without the financial support of parents such activities would not take place;
3. that parents should be informed of the cost of each activity and requested to make voluntary contributions to cover the full cost of the activity;
4. that, in the case of school outings and trips, the signed consent of parents should be sought;
5. that no child should be omitted from the planned activity because of their parents' inability or unwillingness to contribute.
