Headteacher's Welcome
On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, I would like to warmly welcome you to Fairfield Community Primary School’s website. I am extremely privileged to be Headteacher and to lead a team that is committed to children's well-being, achieving high standards and providing the very best opportunities for all in our care. All schools have their own distinctive ‘feel’ which makes each one unique. We believe that the ‘special feel’ at Fairfield Primary comes from our caring, supportive and friendly environment and staff, as well as the family feel within our community. Children lie at the heart of everything we do and every decision within the school is made by firstly considering what is in the best interest of our children.
Our vision is that all Fairfield children achieve their potential and develop into caring, responsible and hardworking Fairfield citizens. Learning is fun and pupils are enthused and supported to achieve their very best. This is encapsulated in our school motto, “Happiness and High Standards.”
Our school is a happy and safe place where pupils are encouraged and supported to achieve their goals. The standard of teaching and learning is extremely high and the behaviour of pupils is exemplary. We are an inclusive school and pride ourselves in raising awareness of equalities and fundamental human rights, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Ofsted reported that ‘Pupils appreciate the care and support that teachers provide and their work to make lessons interesting and enjoyable. Pupils recognise the importance of good behaviour and showing respect for all people, regardless of any difference’.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced, giving children the key skills they need for life but also a range of opportunities in sport, music, drama and learning beyond the classroom. We all remember those wow experiences from our time in primary school!
Please take time to browse our website and find out more about our lovely school. You will find a wealth of information about what the children are learning as well as statutory information from Ofsted and other informative documents such as school policies, the prospectus and our procedures.
Please feel free to contact the school office with any questions or to arrange a visit to come and see our school first hand and meet our friendly children and staff.
We look forward to welcoming you to our special school, and to a happy and successful partnership with all our children and families.
Mrs. Victoria Gilkey
Proud Headteacher
